Leonah has been working in Singapore since early 2020 to earn money to support her mother who is suffering from stage 4 breast & bone cancer. Her mother has been sick for nearly 13 years now. With all that she was earning, the 19-year-old was supporting her mother by paying for chemotherapy twice a month, her medication, a caregiver, hospital stays, even transport to and from the hospital and living expenses for her mother who is in dire need of continuing chemotherapy twice a month.
Due to COVID-19 and the circuit breaker, Leonah has not earned any income since March. She has been out of work and is struggling to pay her own rent, afford to see a doctor or afford nutritious and regular meals for herself as well. Leonah does not have any savings at the moment as all the money she had gone towards her mother.
Leonah has shared with us that her mother’s treatment costs 40,000 pesos (S$1,119) per month for chemotherapy. Her mother has completed two sessions of chemotherapy and needs another eight sessions which will amount to S$8,952.
Ray of Hope is raising S$9,852 which will cover the treatment fees and Leonah’s living expenses ($300 x 2 months) during this period. Your donations will allow Leonah’s mother to receive treatment without worrying about the fees!
*Leonah is not eligible for any Government Schemes as she is not a Singapore citizen.
