What happened to Lynn?
Lynn is the only child of Mr and Mrs Ang. Both in their seventies, they suffer from multiple medical conditions requiring frequent medical follow up and care. Previously an account Assistant, Lynn stopped working in 2017 to attend to her parents medical and caregiving needs.
The caregiving and financial stress took a toll on Lynn, and she ultimately developed anxiety, depression, gastritis and gynaecological issues.
How can you help?
With conflicting medical schedules to attend to, Lynn worries about either parent being left alone whenever she takes the other for medical appointments. She has also defaulted on many of her medical appointments in order to prioritize their care.
Your gift will fund elder-sitting services for 6 months ($880 per month x 6 months) for Mr and Mrs Ang, allowing Lynn peace of mind that when she brings one for medical appointments, the other is cared for. This would also give Lynn breathing space to attend to her own health needs.

Mrs Ang, 73, has multiple chronic illnesses on top of her heart condition and asthma. She also has very weak immunity and poor liver condition. Her frequent hospitalization is due to lung infection, and since her last discharge this month, doctors have advised that her prognosis is poor.
The household of three survives on the $600 they receive from renting out a room in their 3-room HDB flat and the quarterly payouts from the Silver Support Scheme from both parents (works out to be a total of $480 a month).
