Single mum with two children struggles to make ends meet
Campaign started on 23/09/2020Campaign Story
Madam Ivy, 34 years old, is a single mother of two. She moved into a two-room rental flat recently with her 11-year-old daughter while her 14-year-old son lives with her mother. Madam Ivy was promised a job position at the start of September but was turned down at the last minute. Since then, she has been looking for a new job as she wants to support her family more.
Madam Ivy is aware that she has arrears that need to be settled. However, being the only one supporting her two children, she finds it hard to do so, especially given the current economic status. She is currently being supported by SSO until December this year. The support is only enough to cover all her monthly expenses.
Hence, Ray Of Hope would like to raise S$1,200 (S$400 x 3 months) to help defray Madam Ivy’s daily expenses while she looks for employment.
*Madam Ivy is receiving assistance from SSO.
