“No matter how hard life is being the main caregiver to my bedridden husband, I’ll try my best”
Campaign started on 02/11/2020Campaign Story
Mdm Margaret’s husband, 67, has been battling with brain damage since his first stroke in 2018. Since then, he is dependent on his wife for his day-to-day needs. He was previously working as a delivery driver to financially support his family. While being the sole caregiver to her husband is not easy, Mdm Margaret, aged 63, has never complained about the physical exhaustion from caring for her husband.
Mdm Margaret and her husband has a 40-year-old daughter who is currently doing freelance work. On top of that, she does food delivery to earn an extra income. Since the age of one, Mdm Margaret’s daughter suffers from hearing impairment. She is the sole breadwinner in the family.
In addition to her daughter’s income, Mdm Margaret’s family is relying on their monthly financial assistance of $200 from the SSO till April 2021. However, the amount is still insufficient to fund her family’s daily necessities.
Ray of Hope would therefore like to raise S$2,150 for Mdm Margaret’s family. Below is the breakdown of how the funds are going to be utilised:
- Living Expenses: S$1,200 (S$300 x 4 months)
- Laptop: S$600 (Allows Mdm Margaret’s daughter to continue her freelance work)
- Phone: S$350 (Replacement for Mdm Margaret’s previous phone as it was faulty)Â
*Mdm Margaret is currently receiving public assistance from the Social Service Office (SSO).

Thank you for what you do for the family, it is not easy to be a caretaker.
