Mira, a healthcare administrator, is the pillar of strength for her four children aged 3 to 10. Three of them battle severe respiratory issues, with 6-year-old Ida facing life-threatening asthma attacks.

Multiple hospitalizations, including ICU stays and resuscitations, have become their harsh reality. Mira’s eldest, Imran, faces obstructive sleep apnea on top of chronic asthma and is awaiting surgery. Amidst this medical maelstrom, Mira’s work life has crumbled, leaving her in a negative-pay situation as she prioritises her children’s care over her career.

• Transportation costs for frequent hospital visits
