Support Mr Idrees With His Medical Expenses
Managing Life on His Own
Mr Idrees has been managing life on his own for many years. He has been living in Singapore since 1982 and became a Permanent Resident in 2006. He is single and has not been in contact with his immediate family for some time. His parents have passed on, and he is not in contact with his siblings.
Despite this, he has remained independent. He is currently staying with a friend who has stepped in to support him with accommodation without rent, helping him keep his expenses low. To support himself, Mr Idrees takes on ad hoc jobs arranged through his friend, mainly assisting with the sale of shipping parts. His income is irregular, and there are days when no work is available. On such days, he keeps his expenses minimal while waiting for the next opportunity to earn.
“I just try to manage on my own,” he shared.
Facing an Unexpected Medical Bill
For a long time, Mr Idrees was able to sustain himself through careful spending and occasional work. However, as he manages several ongoing health conditions, a hospitalisation in January this year has disrupted this fragile balance. He now faces an outstanding subsidised medical bill of $5,526.96, which he is unable to pay on his own.
Without savings or a stable income, this one-time expense has become difficult for him to manage alongside his daily needs. While his friend continues to support him with housing, Mr Idrees remains responsible for his basic expenses. The added pressure of an unpaid bill has made it harder for him to focus on recovery.
“I just want to settle this and move on,” he said.
After years of managing on his own, he is now facing a situation where he needs support. Without timely help, the financial strain may affect his recovery and make it harder for him to meet his daily needs.
A Chance to Recover
We are raising $5,626.50* to help Mr Idrees fully clear his outstanding medical bill.
With your support, Mr Idrees can relieve the immediate pressure of this debt and focus on his recovery without the constant worry of unpaid bills. It will also help him maintain his current living situation and continue meeting his daily needs. Timely support will make a difference in helping him focus on recovery.
This is a one-time need that, if met, will allow Mr Idrees to regain stability and return to the routine he has maintained on his own for years. It will also prevent his situation from worsening into longer-term financial difficulty.
All funds raised will be paid directly to the hospital.
Your contribution, no matter the amount, will go directly towards helping Mr Idrees recover with peace of mind.
