Ray of Hope is raising $2,800 ($700 x 4 months) to support Mr Liu and his family with their living expenses.
As a Warehouse Assistant, Mr Liu’s main task was to load and unload processed meat. While he was rushing to complete his tasks, he slipped on the wet floor while walking around in that cold room. This resulted in him injuring his back and his right foot. After being hospitalised for three days, Mr Liu was only allowed to proceed with light duty at work.
Shortly after the first accident, Mr Liu slipped on plastic while he was working. Trying to break from the fall, Mr Liu fell on his side and fractured his right little finger. Since the accident, he has not been able to bend his finger. Due to his condition, his employer terminated his contract, leaving Mr Liu jobless.
Mr Liu was earning an average monthly salary of $900 prior to the accident. Back in China, Mr Liu’s younger brother is the only one supporting their two parents as a Research Staff. However, Mr Liu shared that the amount his brother earns is barely enough to support the family. Since the accident, his family has been borrowing money from friends and relatives to support themselves financially.
Mr Liu still suffers pain in his finger and is eager to recover so that he can resume working to support his family. In the meantime, he is in great distress as he has not been able to send money to his family.
