Fathers have always quietly persevered for their families, often without expecting anything in return. So this Father’s Day, we celebrate the Superdads who continue to show up for their families, providing love, support and guidance despite the challenges.
About Project Superdad:
Ray of Hope and The Therapy Room (TTR) is organising Project Superdad! Project Superdad, facilitated by TTR’s trained psychologists and counsellors, is a Community Building and Father’s Day event where dads from different socio-economic backgrounds can come together to share their unique circumstances that impact their fatherhood experience. We will have games of yesteryear to encourage reflection and sharing of thoughts and feelings to enhance father-child bonding. Project Superdad will enable new friendships to form and create support systems to empower these super dads better. It will also challenge traditional gender stereotypes that portray fathers as secondary caregivers.
Why is Project Superdad important:
Low-income families often struggle to meet their basic needs. As a result, they may need more financial means to access or participate in activities that would expose them to different networks. Project Superdad is our first step in reducing the exposure gaps for these vulnerable families. Attendees of Project Superdad will include TTR beneficiaries, RoH clients and volunteers. This event can help foster understanding, appreciation, and connections between people from different walks of life.
What are we raising funds for?
Transport allowance for RoH clients and TTR beneficiaries: $360
Lunch at Penny University: $1232
Some of our clients have children with medical conditions that make travel challenging. We are therefore providing a travel allowance to make things easier for them.
Fathers deserve to be celebrated for all that they do. Let Project Superdad be a small celebration for families who may not have the financial ability to honour their heroes.
