In these unprecedented times due to COVID-19, The Social Kitchen @ YMCA seeks to provide free meals for needy children and their families affected by the crisis.
Every $5 donation will cover the costs of delivery, ingredients and meal preparation by our Y Cafe chefs. Please donate generously to ensure that our affected clients will not have to worry about having food on their tables in this difficult time.
We will be partnering with SHINE Children and Youth Services to reach out to other Social Service Agencies and identify those most in need.
Project Makan is part of our YMCA Food of Love initiative, a YMCA-Tan Chin Tuan Community Service Programme.
Project Makan also partners Eat for Good, a collaborative initiative by NVPC’s Company of Good that aims to bring stakeholders in the food and dining space together to make doing good a part of daily encounters. Read more about Eat for Good at https://www.companyofgood.sg/story/276.

About the Charity
*COVID-19 Update: Due to COVID-19, many vulnerable communities face new challenges. Fundraising has also become exceptionally difficult. We would like to make an appeal to all to join us in our efforts in reaching out during these tough times. Your donation will fund new initiatives and existing programmes that support these communities. Please read “Our Programmes” for more information on these programmes.
The YMCA of Singapore stands to challenge, champion and train youth to stand up and be counted as independent and effective contributors to an inclusive society.
Our “YMCA Strong” campaign is a statement of our desired outcome for all we serve – to give our clients a hand up, not simply a handout, so that each one will be strengthened to reach their potential.
Our programmes range from training and employing special needs youth to mobilising and training youth leaders and volunteers to serve the needy in society.
About Ray of Hope
100% of your donations through Ray of Hope goes to people in need. We do not take a cut from the funds. We even cover the 3rd party credit card charges, if you choose not to, that other crowdfunding platforms deduct from your donation for campaigns.
100% of all campaigns are also fully verified, so you know your funds goes to real people with real needs.
We take donor accountability very seriously – with yearly audited accounts and strong governance in place to ensure that your donations is properly channeled to the beneficiaries.
Ray of Hope is a registered charity and a member of the National Council of Social Services.
