What happened to Shamime?

On 28 April 2022, Shamime fell while carrying hacking equipment and going down makeshift steps. The fall left him with an injured back and a torn left anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). Shamime was brought to a private clinic and was prescribed painkillers. These did not alleviate his pain and he eventually had an ACL operation on 30 December 2022. While his medical leave ends on 27th March 2023, Shamime is deeply worried as he still experiences persistent pain in his lower back and left knee, affecting his mobility and hence, his ability to resume …

1st disbursement to Shamime

Ray of Hope has made the first disbursement of $708 to Shamime through the NGO supporting him, and the funds have been received. With the funds raised, Shamime is heartened that he can send remittances home to his family back home.
