47-year-old Suyatmi has been in Singapore since 2011 as a Foreign Domestic Worker. In Indonesia, she is supporting her parents and two children with her youngest still attending school. In March 2022, Suyatmi was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer and underwent surgery in April. The doctors have advised that she goes through additional treatment to keep the cancer cells from spreading further.

Ray of Hope would like to raise $49,450 to support Suyatmi with the following medical treatment: 

• Chemotherapy and medication: $41,950
• Radiotherapy: $7,500

Suyatmi came from Indonesia, and has been a great help to her employer’s family, taking care and looking after the home with love and kindness for 11 years. She is the sole provider to her parents and children back in Indonesia. 

In March 2022, Suyatmi noticed a lump on her left breast. After multiple scans and biopsy, she was referred to the hospital and was subsequently diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer. In April 2022, it was reported that the cancer had spread and had to undergo surgery to remove the lump. Suyatmi’s medical insurance has been covering her medical treatment in Singapore thus far but treatment for such illness is very costly in Singapore. However, she has a better chance of survival and a better quality of life if her cancer treatment is done locally with Singapore’s advanced medical system. After consulting the doctors in the hospital, the estimated cost of chemotherapy and radiotherapy is $49,450.

Suyatmi has expressed wanting to continue working in Singapore while she receives treatment as her family is still dependent on her.
