Meet Muzammil

Muzammil is a passionate youth with a love for computers, dreams of building a career in cybersecurity. With the support of a previous Ray of Hope campaign, Muzammil successfully completed his N-levels. Despite not meeting the cut-off for his desired course, his determination never wavered. Muzammil has accepted a place in Higher Nitec for Security System Integration—a stepping stone that will help him stay on track toward his aspirations.

A Family’s Struggle

Muzammil’s family has faced overwhelming challenges since the COVID-19 pandemic forced the closure of their food stall. The financial loss led to bankruptcy, leaving them in a cycle of financial hardship. As permanent residents (PRs), Muzammil and his mother have limited access to government assistance, making it difficult to cover basic needs.

Muzammil’s mother works as a security officer but suffers from a debilitating skin condition that causes painful, severe rashes, making it hard for her to sit, stand, or continue working full-time. His father, an LTVP holder, is unable to provide consistent financial support, further straining the family’s resources.

How You Can Support

Ray of Hope is raising $3,180 to support Muzammil and his family with essential expenses, ensuring he can focus on his education without financial anxiety. This amount will cover:

1. School allowance for six months: $1,680 ($280 per month)
2. School uniforms (three sets): $150
3. Groceries for the family for three months: $1,350 ($450 per month)

This support will allow Muzammil to have proper uniforms, sufficient pocket money for school, and nutritious meals at home, ensuring he can pack meals for his long school days.
