Usher in the Year of the Dragon with a gesture that embraces the true spirit of giving! This Lunar New Year, let your generosity be the lantern that dispels the shadows and illuminates the path to prosperity for all.
As red lanterns illuminate homes and echo prosperity, there exists a poignant narrative often overshadowed by the festivities. It’s a chapter written by low-income families, where the strains of daily life drown the joyous cadence of celebration. Hongbao for Hope 2024 (HBFH24) aims to raise $11,700 for 42 adults and 17 children who would otherwise witness Lunar New Year’s radiant glow from the shadows of hardship.
The funds will go towards: • NTUC Vouchers: $2000.00 • Disbursements: $6200.00 • Lunar New Year Lunch (inclusive of a lion dance performance): $3500
Here are 2 of the individuals you will be helping:
When Mr Li fell and injured his back, he faced delays in receiving adequate medical attention despite the severity of the incident. Eventually, his 90-day medical leave resulted in partial wages, exacerbating the financial strain on his family. As the sole breadwinner, his inability to work and the subsequent lack of sufficient financial support have left his wife and three children grappling with mounting challenges, uncertainty, and hardship.
Sylvia was trapped in an abusive relationship that took a toll on both her and her two children, aged 9 and 6. Witnessing the profound impact of the abuse on her children, she filed for divorce and sought full custody, marking a crucial step toward providing her family with a fresh start and a safer, more stable future. However, as a single mother, financial constraints pose a significant challenge.
So, as you prepare to give hongbaos to your loved ones, consider adding one more—a hongbao filled with the promise of a brighter new year for those who need it most.
Excess funds raised in this campaign will be channelled towards Hongbao for Hope 2025.
