Caregiver of an elderly grandma with dementia and two school-going children needs your help!
Campaign started on 09/11/2020Campaign Story
Ray of Hope has previously assisted Mdm Yati with her grocery costs and expenses for her grandma’s diapers. In addition to being the main caregiver to her grandma who suffers from dementia, Mdm Yati is also taking care of her two school-going children, 14 and 6.
Previously, Mdm Yati’s husband worked as a food delivery rider earning about S$80 per day. A few months ago, her husband’s income was greatly affected due to Covid-19, and he was not earning as much as he used to. As the full-time caregiver to her grandma and two children, Mdm Yati is unable to seek employment.
Thankfully, Mdm Yati’s husband managed to secure a full-time job in the retail sector last month, earning about S$1,500 per month. However, her family is now struggling to pay for their living arrears and the debts incurred while her husband was looking for full-time employment. Her husband is currently trying to clock in more overtime hours to settle the family’s outstanding arrears and debts. With a more stable and secure income from her husband, Mdm Yati is hopeful that her family will achieve a better quality of life once their debts are settled.
Ray of Hope would like to raise S$2,570 to help Mdm Yati with the following:
- Family’s daily expenses and her grandma’s needs: S$2,050 (S$410 x 5 months)
- Co-payment for Mdm Yati’s SP and Town Council arrears: S$520
*Yati has applied for social assistance, and her application is being processed.
