The Empowering Women Giving Circle aims to encourage and empower girls and women to dream bigger than the circumstances that may be limiting them. The women who benefit may include those who want to go back to work and need some help with putting their young children in childcare, single mothers who need help with groceries every month, or those whose livelihoods were devastated due to the pandemic.

The seed money of $30,000 to kick-off this Giving Circle on 12 December 2021 was raised by the Class of 1991 of Raffles Girls’ School (RGS) in conjunction with their 30th anniversary. The Empowering Women Giving Circle is now open to public support.

By donating to this Empowering Women Giving Circle, you will help women in difficult circumstances to find firmer footing as they work towards improving their respective situations, such as:

Alice, a single mother of two, who needs financial assistance for groceries and rent while she seeks full-time employment.

Fion, the main caregiver of her three children, who needs help with grocery expenses as she is certified unfit to work until September 2022.

What is a Giving Circle?

A Giving Circle is a pooled fund created to meet the needs of a specific group of people or for a specific need. Other Ray of Hope Giving Circles are for Migrant Workers, Single Parents, the Elderly, Persons with Special Needs, the Homeless.

Where an individual campaign falls short of its crowdfunding goal, funds from the relevant Giving Circle are used to support the campaign. To ensure fairness, the specific amount is determined by Ray of Hope’s internal guidelines for each Giving Circle.

How will these funds be utilised? 

100% of all donations will go to the beneficiaries.

100% of beneficiaries have been assessed by our caseworkers. Our stringent verification process includes relevant checks with government authorities and verified documents provided by the families to ensure that your donations are going to those who really need the financial assistance.  

As a donor to this Giving Circle, you will receive e-mail updates about how the funds are utilised.
