Hong Bao for Hope 2020 is fully raised, thanks to the generous donors who have donated! The case workers are meeting the families this week to disburse the funds to them for their Chinese New Year preparations. The clients who have received the donations, of which are some spending this CNY without their families, are immensely thankful for these funds raised in addition to their individual campaigns.

Among the 31 recipients of this campaign is Aunty Florence, the caregiver to her 83-year-old bedridden husband who has been unable to work since the onset of his stroke. Aunty Florence herself suffers from multiple chronic ailments.

Quoting the 73-year-old, “Thank you for showing me that we are not forgotten. Mr Chua (her husband) has not been working since his stroke. We are thankful because everything is so expensive now. With the extra $200, we can use it to buy his supplements and necessities for the house for New Year.”

Some of our elderly clients like Aunty Florence has come a long way just to put a decent meal on the table, while struggling without knowing if they will ever get well or even better.
